A culinary preparation for chopping in a mortar and pestle consisting of colines (breadsticks), almonds, hazelnuts and pine nuts. It is used to bind sauces or to give a touch of flavour to all kinds of dishes such as meat, fish, rice, pulses, soups, vegetables, etc. In Catalan cuisine it is very typical to add it at the end of the cooking process.
